SUMMARY:CISV Portland Junior Branch Kick-Off Event
DESCRIPTION:The Junior Branch (JB) is the very heart and soul of CISV\, and members enjoy local activities throughout the year that include mini-camps\, meetings\, activities such as movie nights\, and participating in events to support other non-profits. The JB comprises youth ages 9+ who develop intercultural and leadership skills through educational and social activities here at home. \nFor CISV Portland\, our JB is IN DEVELOPMENT for 2020! And to get it going in grand style\, we are hosting a JB Kick-Off Event on Sunday\, February 23rd from 1pm-4:30pm. \nAt this event\, which will be held in a board members home and run by our CISV Portland Junior Branch Adult Liaison and a team of experienced CISVers\, we invite our Portland JB to experience a trio of activities throughout the afternoon: \n\nCISV JB 101 – what is JB and the plans for our chapter\nBaking for Charity – cookies or granola bars for a local soup kitchen\nDocumentary and Discussion – watching a short film followed by a CISV style discussion (do\, reflect\, generalize\, apply)\n\nPlease Register. There is no cost to attend this event. Address will be emailed to all registered attendees as it is in a private home.

In addition to family activities\, all of the youth delegates from both countries get together for group activities every few days that include CISV peace education curriculum.
